Recognition from LA State School Board & BESE Vice President Preston Castille

EPSB Superintendent Darwan Lazard and Vice President Wanda Skinner received a Certificate of Recognition on behalf of the Evangeline Parish School District from the LA State Board of Elementary & Secondary Education (BESE) and the LA Department of Education from BESE Vice President Preston Castille, who represents BESE District 8, which includes Evangeline Parish, on 10-4-2023.

Evangeline Parish School District has the second highest growth in the State of Louisiana out of 69 school districts.

Mr. Castille congratulated the District for its academic gains & improvements following the learning losses caused by the pandemic. He commended Superintendent Lazard for his outstanding leadership in Evangeline Parish and at the state level in Baton Rouge. Mr. Castille praised the Board for working with its Superintendent of Schools and his staff to improve student achievement and educational outcomes.

Superintendent Lazard concluded by saying that he accepted this great commendation on behalf of all educators, support staff, students, school board members, and other stakeholders of Evangeline Parish.
