Director’s Message

Evangeline Parish Schools are “Climbing to the Top”  We are excited about the many opportunites the district has for students with disabilities.  Evangeline Parish Schools are making great progress in accountability, career planning, curriculum equality, and parent/community involvement.  With improvement in these areas the students will become the hiers of great success.   The Evangeline Parish School District believes in all of our students.  We have ambitious expectations for the students in our district.  We know that the future of our community is in the hands of our students.

Evangeline Parish Schools offer a full range of special education programs and related services.  We are fully staffed with educational diagnosticians, a school psychologist, school social workers, speech therapists, ABA therapist, audiologist, occupational therapists, physical therapists, adaptive physical education teachers, a transition teacher, a transition specialist, gifted teacher, talented teachers in the areas of art, music, and theatre, and certified special education teachers.  The staff is dedicated to producing improved educational outcomes for students in our programs with the long term goal of graduating with a diploma.

The Special Education Department also engages in child find activities to ensure that struggling learners or gifted/talented learners are identified in order to maximize their greatest potential.  You may refer to the child find advertisment placed in the local newspapers for more information or contact your child’s school and ask for the school building level chairperson for more information about the referral process.  I thank you for visiting our website, and please reach out to the department at any time for assistance as needed.
